Presentation of La Pièce de Roche - Château La Baronne

A true homage to Carignan , the historic grape variety of the Corbières, La Pièce de Roche is an exceptional vintage from Château La Baronne . This organic and biodynamic red wine is made from century-old vines rooted in the deepest and most expressive terroirs of the Montagne d'Alaric. Vinification and maturation are carried out with care, in amphorae, jars and ceramic eggs , to preserve all the purity of the fruit and the finesse of the terroir. This masterful work gives birth to a great wine for laying down , at once intense, elegant and unique. On the nose as well as on the palate, La Pièce de Roche seduces with its aromas of ripe fruit , enhanced with notes of sweet spices . The palate is remarkably complex , with subtle depth , silky tannins , and a long aromatic persistence that leaves a delicate and refined imprint. An exceptional Carignan des Corbières , made for aging, which will appeal to lovers of great red wines from Languedoc , combining authenticity, finesse and innovative aging .

HISTORY OF THE ESTATE

In the heart of the Corbières, nestled in the foothills of the Montagne d'Alaric, Château La Baronne is a family estate that embodies the soul of Languedoc. For over a century, the Lignères family, passionate doctors and winemakers , have watched over this exceptional vineyard located in a preserved natural ecosystem. On these lands shaped by the four great geological eras, the vines flourish between 100 and 200 meters above sea level, on soils rich in clay, limestone and sandstone. Centenary Carignan, Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, but also Vermentino, Roussanne or even Grenache blanc and gris: the emblematic grape varieties of the south express themselves here with authenticity. From Louis Lignères, who founded the house in 1890, to Jean and Anne, who perpetuate its spirit today, five generations have succeeded one another with the same desire: to reveal the beauty of the Alaric terroirs through sincere, lively and committed vintages.

FOOD AND WINE PAIRING

Very nice pairings with duck, veal and also cheeses, St Nectaire or a sheep's milk cheese.
