Presentation of Domaine Gilles Morat Pouilly Fuissé – Terres du Menhir Blanc

Are you a fan of great white Burgundy wine ? This Pouilly Fuissé is made for you! Bright pale gold color. Nose of white flowers, hawthorn, acacia, citrus fruits with notes of almonds and a very discreet woodiness. The palate is powerful and rounded and develops, in addition to the aromas already present on the nose, a beautiful limestone minerality. This Pouilly Fuissé – Terres du Menhir Blanc from Domaine Gilles Morat is very representative of its southern Burgundy terroir with a fresh and fine Chardonnay with just the right amount of fat to make it irresistible at the table or as an aperitif!

HISTORY OF THE ESTATE

It was in 1997, after a career in electronics, that Gilles Morat decided to take over the 6 hectare family estate at the foot of the Vergisson rock. This meticulous winemaker and his wife Joëlle work their vines by hand, from the soil to the harvest, without chemical inputs, respecting nature and ecology (without requiring certification). They were thus able to reveal the potential and diversity of the terroirs of their village of Vergisson by producing different vintages of character in the Pouilly Fuissé and Saint Veran appellations. The estate was certified organic in 2022.
