Les Vins de Vienne offer in this confidential vintage (less than 0.5 hectare) an intense Côte Rôtie where the terroir transcends Syrah ! The place called “Les Grandes Places” is considered one of the best plots of this prestigious appellation. The color is very deep dark garnet. The nose is powerful on blackcurrant, leather, pepper and violet. On the palate the wine reveals all its power and generosity with dense tannins which ensure this wine has a radiant future! The long and bright finish evokes licorice and eucalyptus. The Wines of Vienne delight us with this Côte Rôtie “Les Grandes Places” which will evolve admirably for at least ten years!
History of the estate
It all started with the story of 3 friends! In 1996, three emblematic winegrowers of the Northern Rhône valley, Yves Cuilleron , François Villard and Pierre Gaillard created Les Vins de Vienne with the aim of replanting and promoting the historic terroir (dating from Ancient Rome) of Seyssuel . For more than 20 years, Les Vins de Vienne has been expanding its range with IGP Collines Rhodanienne wines but also from prestigious appellations such as Condrieu , Côte Rôtie or Hermitage. The estate, now made up of 16 hectares, continues to progress year after year and has even won its first star in the Green Guide of La Revue des Vins d France.
