Presentation of Domaine Des Gandines – Mâcon-Burgy

This Mâcon-Burgy from Domaine Des Gandines comes from old Gamay Noir vines cultivated in Organic and Biodynamic Agriculture, in Demeter and Ecocert conversion. The 90-year-old vines are located on a limestone plateau at an altitude of 400 m with a north-east exposure. The grapes were harvested by hand, the wine is vinified in the Burgundian style using destemmed grapes (10-day vatting) without added sulphites. The wine was aged for 18 months on lees in stainless steel vats. On the palate, the wine is aromatic and intense with a juicy texture and soft and subtle tannins. Minerality is also present, providing good intensity and long persistence. The tannins are fine and silky, offering a refreshing suppleness to the whole. We can perceive pastry notes, red fruits and spices which complete the taste experience.

HISTORY OF THE ESTATE

In the heart of the Mâconnais, in the south of Burgundy, the Gandines vineyard is a family estate operated by the Dananchet family for four generations. The wines have been AB certified since 2009 and Demeter certified from the 2019 vintage.
