Presentation of Domaine Georges Lignier et Fils - Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru “Les Combottes” 2018 »

Les Combottes is a Premier Cru located in the middle of Grands Crus, which makes it a high quality wine. The vines are planted on clay-limestone soil, with 30cm of soil over 2 to 5m of clay and limestone. A great complex and tannic wine with spicy notes, to be enjoyed in a few years.

HISTORY OF THE ESTATE

Founded at the beginning of the 20th century, the Georges Lignier et Fils estate operates 17 appellations on 16 hectares, spread over 50 plots, planted mainly with the Pinot Noir grape variety. Vine cultivation is intended to be as respectful as possible of the plant and its terroir. All the vines are planted on clay-limestone soil. The average age of the vines is over 50 years.
