Presentation Mas des Agrunelles – Cariño – Vin de France Rouge

With this Cariño vintage, Mas des Agrunelles wanted to highlight Carignan . This Spanish grape variety is today the unloved one of Languedoc because it has long been used for the production of uninteresting mass wines. Mas des Agrunelles proves to us that with small yields and careful vinification, Carignan can produce very pleasant wines with complex aromas! Quite dark purple color. On the nose, this Cariño surprises us with its intense notes of black fruits (blackberry, blueberry), spices, wild berries, leather and fur. On the palate, the animal and spicy notes of the nose combine wonderfully with a very delicious fruitiness and a supple tannin structure which brings a lot of roundness! An astonishing Biodynamic red wine , to share with friends!

History of the estate

It is in a particularly cool area of Languedoc , in Argelliers and Murles, that Frederic Porro and Stéphanie Ponson chose to settle down to create the Mas des Agrunelles. Sharing the same passion for wine and the same vision of viticulture, Frederic and Stéphanie produce red and white wines in a free spirit, most of the time outside the appellations. Le Mas des Agrunelles has cultivated its 25 hectares of vines in Organic Agriculture (AB certified) since 2003 and Biodynamic since 2010 (ECOCERT certified), all accompanied by minimally interventionist vinification and very small doses of sulphites (well below the thresholds authorized in Biodynamics). Result: deep, light and balanced wines that lack neither originality nor charm!
