Presentation of the Domaine La Ferme des Sept Lunes - Saint-Joseph Rouge “Premier Quartier”

The Saint-Joseph “Premier Quartier” from Ferme des Sept Lunes is an elegant and fruity wine. This 100% Syrah cuvée comes from organic and biodynamic cultivation, natural vinification with native yeasts was favored by the winemaker. We find the spicy flavors of Syrah, it is a fruity wine with notes of blackberries and blackcurrant. The tannins are supple and silky. The signature of the estate: preserve the fruit and freshness. A success for this Saint Joseph. A lovely nugget to enjoy now.

HISTORY OF THE ESTATE

Jean Delobre has been at the head of La Ferme des Sept Lunes since 1984, representing the 3rd generation of his family on these lands. The mixed-culture estate (fruit trees, cereals, meadows) delivered its grapes to a cooperative, then, in 2001, Jean Delobre decided to launch his first vinifications. The 10 hectare vineyard is located in the Northern Rhône. Syrah, Gamay, Viognier, Marsanne and Roussanne make up the different grape varieties. The vineyard has been certified organic since 1997 , biodynamics is used to obtain natural and delicate winemaking. Vinification takes place in concrete vats of different shapes (square, egg, ball), stainless steel vats – more versatile and whose neutrality is very suitable for example for entry-level wines, varietal wines vinified with fruit. -, but also in barrels – (non-new) and in demi-muids for Saint-Joseph and even in qvevris (amphoras). The signature of the estate: preserving the fruit and freshness of the wines. The wines are neither fined nor filtered and the sulfur, when used, is in very low doses. It falls into the category of Natural Wines.
