Innis and Gunn Original Overview
Innis & Gunn Original beer is a refreshing and smooth Scottish amber ale aged in oak barrels. Its color is orange tending towards amber with a beautiful off-white head. On the nose it gives off notes of caramel, vanilla and malt. Wood aromas are also present due to its aging for 30 days in oak barrels. On the palate we find flavors of vanilla, malt, citrus and caramel. The hops provide a subtle and pleasant bitterness. It’s a flattering beer that will appeal to as many people as possible.
History of the brewery
The Innis & Gunn Brewery was created in 2003 by Dougal Sharp following a combination of circumstances. After being contacted by a distillery to work on whiskeys aged in beer-flavored oak barrels, Dougal Sharp developed a beer to flavor the barrels. Eventually this beer was a great success and the Innis & Gunn brewery was born. It is a pioneer brewery in the aging of beers in oak barrels. It offers a fine range of barrel-aged Scottish beer, notably the Original version which is always a great success.
