Presentation of the Manoir de la Tête Rouge – “Bagatelle” Saumur Rouge

The “Bagatelle” vintage from Manoir de la Tête Rouge is the estate’s emblematic vintage. This organic red Saumur is simple and delicate. The wine honors Cabernet Franc. Its color is carmine red and its nose is fresh with notes of red fruits. On the palate the attack is frank and fresh. The raspberry notes blend well with the supple tannins. An excellent organic Saumur at a low price.

History of the estate

Funny name for a winery. The Manoir de la Tête Rouge is located on the hill of Puy de Notre-Dame in the Loire. The building was built in 1649, and it was bought by the winegrower in 1995. The surrounding 10 hectares of vines are planted on the best clay-limestone terroirs in the Saumure region. Since 1998, the estate has been working in organic farming. And since 2010 the vines have been cultivated biodynamically. Le Manoir à la Tête Rouge offers us vintages with unique character and intense taste. Loire wine lovers, taste one of their white or red brines , or why not their Pineau d’Aunis .
